The Crossings Collection

“Following on from my Fine Art studies at Falmouth University, I lived and worked in Penzance, sailing regularly to the Isles of Scilly and encountering the vastness, tranquillity and violence of the open ocean. Next spending four years living and working on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland’s Outer Hebrides, I journeyed often to and from the mainland, experiencing the wild nature of The Minch from Spring through to winter.

Based on observational drawings and memories of the movement and patterns of traversing the ocean, this collection considers vulnerability, reasoning and psychological state in the unpredictable environment of open water.”
